What time can we check in to the
B&B?
Normal check in times are between 4.00pm and 8.00pm.
What time do we have to check out from our room?
Check out time is 10.00am.
Is
there parking?
We have parking to the front of the B&B where you can
leave your car for the duration of your stay.
Do you allow pets?
Sorry we do not accept pets at The Dumfries Villa
Do we have to leave the house during the day?
Are there really still guest houses who chase their guests
out of the house? We hope not. Once you have got your
keys, the room is yours until you check out. We do need
access for room service during the morning, however.
What time do you lock up in the evening?
You will receive a front door key on arrival – so
you are free to come and go as you please
How do we get to you from the station?
If you are travelling from the south then
just follow the way out signs from the platform that you
will arrive on. This will take you to the shared car park
of the railway station and the Station Hotel. To the right
of the Sation Hotel is Lovers Walk; you will see a school
sign which slightly obscures our sign. We are about 150
paces away opposite St John's Church.
If travelling from
the north then you need to cross the footbridge
to the opposite platform and follow the way out signs.
This will take you to the shared car park of the
railway station and the Station Hotel. To the right of
the Sation Hotel is Lovers Walk; you will see a school
sign which slightly obscures our sign. We are about 150
paces away opposite St John's church
Can we leave our car in your
car park on our day of departure to explore the town
on foot?
Yes, of course, we strongly recommend you do that. It is
cheaper and safer.
Are you within walking distance to the centre?
A normally fit person will walk to the main shopping area
of Dumfries within 5 minutes. Local pubs and restaraunts
are also within a 5 minute walk.
Why do I need to
provide my credit card details?
To complete a booking we ask for a debit or credit
card number with expiry date and the 3 digit security
number. (The request for your 3 digit security number
is part of the pre-authorization process required by
our credit card payment facility; all card information
is held in a safe and secure environment and
credit card details are appropriately disposed of on
your departure.
Please
note that no money will be taken from your card prior
to your arrival) We do, however, ask for 48
hours cancellation notice, unless you have made
a block booking of all our rooms,
should you wish to cancel. In the event of a ‘no
show’ or
late cancellation then the first night’s accommodation
cost will be taken from your card.
Your credit card details also provide us with the security
that we will receive payment for the following:-
