Golf trips

Scotland is renowned for its golf courses, and Dumfries Villa is on the doorstep of some of the best in the country.

Golfers regularly stay at our bed and breakfast before venturing out on the course.

That’s why we have come up with this handy guide of local golf courses:

Dumfries and County Golf Club

The Dumfries and County Golf Club is a privately owned, 18-hole parkland course situated just over a mile from Dumfries Villa. The course is bordered on one side by the river Nith and offers spectacular views of the Nith Valley and surrounding countryside. Set in 89 acres, it requires a high degree of course management to achieve a par of 69. Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club

Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club have an excellent range of facilities and is a welcoming club. Visitors to the course are welcome on most days, although on days where competitions are being played there will be limited times available. Alternatively, if you have a verified handicap, you might like to consider entering one of our open competitions. Tee-off times are available daily from 9.30am to 11.30am for morning rounds and from 1.30pm to 3pm for the afternoon.

Crichton Golf Club

Crichton Golf Club is a wooded parkland course located directly opposite Dumfries & Galloway Hospital about one mile outside Dumfries on the Bankend Road. The Clubhouse has a restaurant and bar. A function room is available for private parties, club and society meetings. Group bookings and visitors are welcome but restrictions apply depending on club competitions.
